Salvage operation
A leaking pipe in the ceiling of a the space we call the "band room," in the lower level of our house, has forced a partial-remodel.
These music posters - taped, tacked and glued to all four walls by the kids when they lived here - may finally have had their day.
As you can see by the tape marks, some already have succumbed to humidity-plus-gravity over the years. Others are barely hanging on and the rest are scarred to one degree or another.
I've been breaking the news to the kids, whose reaction has ranged from mild resistance to "Oh, no!" Some of the posters, they say, have sentimental value.
So, I'll extract them from the walls as carefully as I can, put them in a stack and give the kids one final chance at salvage.
