22/10/23-Walk from Ashley Walk to Leaden Hall in the New Forest and back and bits at home
Pictures taken in this set are of: 1 and 10. Beautiful views in fine bits of sunshine on the forest walk. 2. Mushrooms, waxcaps I believe shining in the sun. 3. A ravishing barking Raven which it was a joy to see. Such key symbolic birds of this relative wilderness. 4. Three Greenfinches it was a delight to see at Leaden Hall, lovely birds. 5. One of a few gorgeous rainbows I enjoyed seeing whilst out and on the way home, this the brightest, the vast landscape a fitting stage for this enchanting and beautiful burst of colour in the sky. 6 and 8. One of a decent amount of ponies I enjoyed seeing today, some little ones. 7. House Sparrow in the garden. 9. Some more mushrooms, I enjoyed seeing loads again today this weekend will perhaps go down as the centre piece of my autumn for fungi with so many wonderful ones seen in the forest.
On the walk it was also good to see Blackbirds, Redwings, loads of Robins looking stunning including one nestled in a holly bush brimming with red berries a good scene for two months from now and a nice chirping Meadow Pipit overhead at Leaden Hall. It was rustic and stirring to hear the distant roar of a Fallow Deer stag, an evocative autumnal moment with Grey Squirrel, vibrant Red Admirals chasing each other at Ashley Walk, a caterpillar possibly Fox moth, milkwort, daisy, possible centaury, gorse, mistletoe, hawthorn berries, some more dashing fly agarics today after yesterday also where we'd seen them before at the birch adorned car park at Ashley Walk, orange bonnet and deceiver mushrooms other highlights. I enjoyed bouncy Blue Tit, sun kissed Goldfinch, Starlings and a fine Magpie view at home today too, with a calf seen on the rainbow and moon (also enjoyed at home this evening) adorned journey back tonight and cracking view of a magical Kestrel as we got onto the motorway on the way.
