It just works. On so many levels it's like an elevator up in this place. You need to shut the fuck up and I want to be with you but I don't want to talk right now. Unspoken rules between them that they'll patch each other up afterwards, because neither are "strong" enough to leave the other hurt physically, and therefore physical injuries guarantee a certain amount of gentle contact that emotional arguments will "never" prompt. The level of intimacy in knowing which spots are bruised and sore and bloody because you've put those marks there, and vice versa. I want them to beat each other up with fists because they're both ranged-strifers, and if there's anyone they'll allow to get that close it's each other.
Jake wins a round and decides he's going to put on a movie while getting some Alternian ointment spread over his bruises and Dirk bitches about his futon getting bloody the entire fucking time. Considering BGD is assuminly made of Jake and Dirks Hope and Heart powers, and Jakes “hope” in him or belief in him, he’d probably be non-existant. Either that, or still the same dude but acts more like a concious in the back of jakes head, like “hey dude maybe dont kill your friends ?”
