Open me up, tell me you like it
Fuck me to death, love me until I love myself
Outtakes from Lana Del Rey’s March 2023 cover shoot for Interview Magazine.
I would, without question, classify Lanas new album "Did You know That theres a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" as largely dark, etherial, gospel rock and pop with some whimsical, period piece, cinematic elements and a light etherial ballads. Its giving. Lore, nature, church, piano nocturne, ascension, with some hiphop elements sprinkled in. Paris Texas reminds me a bit of a prettier, youth ridden version of one of the soundtrack numbers on Coraline. Its earie and fairylike but very grounded like kids playing in the woods. One of her lighter songs.
ITS CALIFORNIA GOTHIC

Return of the Queen
I love how music on Born To Die is associated with the soft coquette aesthetic while Lana's whole vibe in that era was smoking cigarettes with 60 year old men on motorcycles with leather jackets and American flags.
