I've been thinking a lot lately about how so many people have being saying to me that the scales just aren't moving for them. They're feeling great and having clothes fit looser but the number on the scales won't shift. People sometimes forget that the loss doesn't always show on the scales and I found a photo that showed it to me more than ever and I wanted to show all of you too! This photo on the left is a photo of me at 17, in my first house out of home with my best friend. I happen to also remember how much I weighed because it was at a time when I was secretly obsessing over my weight, hating how heavy I was and always stepping on the scales and weighing myself, then feeling horrible that the number was not only not going down, it was going up. When this photo was taken I had never been thin. I had been overweight my whole life. The photo on the right is a very recent shot from last month of my son and I on our holiday to Bali. I WEIGHED LESS on the scales at 17 than this Bali shot here! In fact, quite a bit less, almost 10kg/22lbs actually! But I think I look so much lighter and more importantly, HEALTHIER, as the 31 year old me! Even a few years after that photo at 17 was taken and I lost all my weight and was thin for the first time in my life, I still had terrible body image and always thought I was fat. My self image now, even though I'm far from losing all my weight, is better than it has ever been in my whole life! And it's thanks to keto and all the amazing support I've gotten along the way. Remember how unreliable those scales can be for us sometimes! Slide to see it all, Sautéed Portobello Mushrooms, Tempeh Burger with halloumi instead of tempeh and no bun, fries or onion rings (they gave me extra salad), some of their own Kimchi and Ginger and Star Anise Kombucha! Everything was delicious and I must have had 3 glasses of the fantastic kombucha!
