Tonight was the first time I've ever legit cried at a concert. Like I was singing along and my voice caught and I just started crying They started off with a video dedicated to Joe and they did a pared down version of Mr Wilmington. It was amazing and heartbreaking. It was weird to see them as four, sounding a little less, yet still rocking as much as they always have. LBC has always meant a lot to me, and to say they inspired me to go to CA for college may sound cheesy, but it's true. I got to see them in Palo Alto my second month of college and it's still one of my favorite memories. I had gotten to hear some of the new songs pre show, so I was singing along to them and the boys noticed. I mentioned that I was from Oswego and that they were the reason I was there. After their set I was hanging around in the back while BFS was playing. Joe accidentally spilled his drink on me, and while apologizing profusely, dried off my feet with a t shirt, and signed it for me. He's always been my favorite, and I miss him. Though I didn't know him personally, it's still so sad. LBC will always be my band. The one that I grew up with and always has a song for whatever suckass situation I happen to be in. They are 15 years strong, and I will always love them. And hopefully one of these days I'll be able to listen to Joe's version of 'Part of Your World' without crying. (sorry for the all the feelings... Tonight was way more emotional than I was prepared for.)
