The #LayerPyramid. If you look closely you can see me entering this pyramid’s east entrance. It is unusual among all the pyramids in #LowerEgypt to have an east, not a north entry. . The #LayerPyramid. . This is a shaft almost 25 meters down, on the north side of the pyramid. This pyramid is such a #mystery. There is no agreement on whose pyramid it is. It is Third #Dynasty but all the Kings lists differ as to the pharaohs in this dynasty. Even the few well known #Egyptologists who have studied it disagree about not only it’s measurements, but the scope of the passages. . It is called the “recumbrant camel” by locals. That is, of the locals who know about it. I actually talked to a father who lives literally next door to the desert where it is located who told me he had lived there 20 years and never knew about it until I showed it to him! . And the locals warn you not to go there because, while it is free and does not cost the price of a ticket like all the other Pyramids in #LowerEgypt, it is a stones throw from a military facility with sniper towers all around. . Those towers are guarding another very mysterious pyramid, the #UnfinishedPyramid, but that’s a story for another day... .
