parker: we've got a few shows booked this month and i think it'd be a cool fucking change of pace if we didn't sound as shit as usual for them

parker: it's just sitting here /still/ in the plastic wrap because you haven't come over yet

     come the beginning of november, an entire redecoration will have to take place to switch out halloween for the winter holidays, but the prospect of such a task (especially when there are so many decorations) has never deterred niko. the aesthetics are very important, and he knows lav understands--he’d never have agreed to live with somebody who couldn’t get behind the excitement of the holidays. there are halloween-colored fairy lights in most rooms, dark candles with fall scents, fake cobwebs, even themed dishes and wine glasses niko had splurged on last year and been enormously excited to take out again. unfortunately neither of them is very tall, which means quite a lot of dragging step stools around the apartment. he’s using one to try and hang a particularly elaborate bat from a hook in the ceiling when it slips from his hand for the third time and falls to the floor. “lav!” he calls out, one foot stomping unconsciously on the top step of the small ladder. “come here and help me, this bat thing won’t behave!”

parker was startled when he reached for another slice of pizza and realized that it was the last piece, and that he and lavender had eaten the rest in what had felt like no time at all. “i’m serious,” he paused to take a bite, “casey jones is my favorite fictional character of all time. why would i joke about that?” parker couldn’t remember how they had gotten onto this topic when they were supposed to be working on her music, but that seemed to be the trend for these studio sessions. they were practically renting out the space to sit on the couch and eat and talk for hours on end rather than to actually record anything. “when do i ever joke?” parker prodded, one corner of his mouth pulling into a thin smirk. / @lavvcnder
