who: sav & lav ( @lav-jones ) when: present day
Nineteen months. Over a whole damn year and it still hurts like it was yesterday. Will it ever stop being painful or at least hurt a little less? Flashes from the abortion day kept coming back, hitting her harder and harder each time. Her vision was now blurry from the tears in her eyes and she could not hold them back anymore, she’s been doing it for over a year, trying to stay strong alone, but Lavender did not expect Kai's stab. She was glad Morgan wasn’t in their room to see her reaction when she found out, otherwise she didn't know how she would be able to explain. Unsure for how long she stayed in her room, avoiding everyone after the secret reveal, she felt the need to get it together and walk the hallway, she needed to breathe fresh air, to feel the breeze on her face, and stare at the night sky. For days Lav just wanted to feel numb. Thank God it was past midnight and there was no one around to see her eyes, the red and wet eyes of someone who had been crying. Outside the building, she closed her eyes taking a deep breath as she felt the breeze on her face, opening her eyes when she heard footsteps. Lavender didn't turn to face the person, she didn't believe she could do it.  “It’s been more than a year… And still feel just as empty.”
Sav had heard the talk about Lavender. Everyone had, at this point. And while she was relieved, in a way, that attention was off of her, she had been surprised by the whole Lav thing. First, Kai being involved. Though she had heard he was dating or hooking up with or whatever Jene - which, why? - so it made sense, she supposed. But second…she had never imagined Lav having something like that hidden away. And since the other girl had been kind to her after Sav’s secret had been spilled to the whole school….she supposed she could do the same. Plus, Sav had talked to so few people about her pregnancy scare. Maddie, of course. Callie. But after it had happened, she really just tried to push it away. Act like it was nothing. So she had some sort of sick morbid curiosity that Lav’s secret had made rise up, that was probably about tied with her desire to make sure the other girl was doing ok. She found her outside the dorms one night, having been looking around for her, Sav just reaching out and touching her arm lightly instead of saying anything. The obvious tears on her face were pretty much what Sav had expected. After all, it was exactly where she had been a few weeks ago. “Do you want to talk about it?” Sav asked softly. “You don’t have to. But you can. If you want to.”
