[OMEGA: 11 YEARS AGO]
It had been two days since Lavakh'bah Pactova took off running down the streets of Omega. She was tired, she was hungry, and she had no idea where she'd even run off to. All she knew now was that the rage had finally worn off, and now she could feel everything else hit her like a bomb.
The child curled up against a corner and, for the first time since she heard the news, bawled. Lavakh cried until her face was completely soaked in hot tears and snot, and until her empty stomach twisted and gave a series of painful dry heaves. She felt disgusting and pathetic, yet she couldn't bring herself to care and she didn't know why. The only thing she did know was that Chadek was dead, and the only one she had left was Marsta, who might as well have been dead. Lavakh had no one. As far as she was concerned, she was no one, too.
"Get outta the way, ya casteless little shit."
Before she could even look up at the source of the voice she felt an armored boot jab her in the ribs. There was a sharp gasp as the blow winded her. Then there was rage. Staggering to her feet, she wiped the snot and vomit off onto her sleeve and called after the batarian woman.
"Cunt! I'm warrior caste!"
The woman spun around, her head cocked to the right and a sneer on her scarred face.
"You sure as fuck don't act like one. Stop crying in the street like a little pussy quarian or some shit. Then maybe someone'd believe it."
"Fuck you, what do yo-"
The woman continued on her way, paying no mind to the child's tirade.
Lavakh clenched her fists.
"Maybe she's right."
