Summary:

Like many moments in the past months, Laurance didn't know how he’d ended up there. A question about his flask, an offering to share, moonlight flickering on the ocean as inhibitions faded and now… His flask had fallen to the floor, empty of liquid sin for once as he took in the physical form of it sat so prettily in his lap. It was captured in pale skin that looked entirely untouched by the sun, eyes that held the sky and never ending questions, freckles in the shape of constellations yet to be discovered… want was too weak a word to describe what he felt at such a sight.

maybe during high school Laurance gave Zane one of his hoodies and just forgot to ask for it back so Zane kept it, sleeping in it when it’s colder and just forgot comfort

it’s long lost Laurance’s scent but the softened fabric is the same due to careful washing and it’s just Zane’s personal comfort that he can keep to himself

until suddenly in season 3 he’s living with the guy, suddenly he needs to hide it even more so just to be safe, suddenly his personal comfort is a risk. he does well hiding it for a while, only wearing it in his room and during winter, only washing it when no one else is home for him to do laundry

then they all get sick

in his haze, Zane changes instinctively into the hoodie for some sense of comfort, barely aware of the looks he’s getting from anyone else because he’s finally the most comfortable he’s been since he got sick and finally he can relax properly

And then after he realises what happened and in his usual behaviour, Zane just does his best to ignore it, avoid Laurance and just not talk about it
