Lets face it, most kids throw their dirty clothes on the floor without thinking twice. It may only be a sock here and a shirt there, but it will gradually accumulate to a cluttered pile of dirty clothes that takes away from the natural beauty and functionality of their room. Instead of allowing your child to carry on with this bad habit, you should come up with a solution for their dirty laundry. Even if their room is small and has limited space, there are still numerous ways to deal with their laundry; here's how:

Clothes Hampers

One of the easiest solutions for dirty clothes in your kid's room is a clothes hamper. You can find them available in countless sizes, shapes and styles to fit anyone's needs. There are even shorter hampers made specifically for small children, which are perfect to use in their room. Just find a corner or area up against the wall to place it where it will be out of the way. Once it's there, teach your child the importance of placing their dirty clothes in it instead of tossing them on the floor. It may take some encouragement, so don't feel discouraged if they aren't immediately using it. Try offering them a reward, such as ice cream or a game of bowling, if they successfully use it for a week without throwing their clothes on the floor.

Slide-Under-The-Bed Baskets

Another solution for your kid's dirty clothes is a slide-under-the-bed basket. As the name suggests, these are baskets short enough to slide directly under their bed. Not only are they perfect for keeping their dirty clothes off the floor, but they also help to save space in their room. The only problem with these baskets is the fact that some beds don't offer the available space for them; therefore, you may not be able to use them.

Shelf and Laundry Basket Combination

Yet another idea for your kid's dirty clothes is a shelf and laundry basket combination. Basically, you'll need to create a deep shelving unit on their wall or in a closet to store several different laundry baskets on. When they have dirty clothes, they can pull out the baskets to place their clothes in. If you want to give this a try, be prepared to spend extra time and money trying to build the shelf, as it needs to be quite deep and long to securely hold a standard laundry basket.
