I have recently read that dA put in their usage agreement some clause or other that says something like they own your art and can sell it to third parties without as much as telling you? I didn't actually check the TOS myself, but be careful if you're going to use it.

I always just assumed that once the rune burns out it only leaves a scar and then you can trace a new rune over that place? That's why they have like nets of scars o: instead of very distinct symbol ones. And they just don't draw gazillions at once.
