I had this 1968 bible as a child. With its almost psychedelic illustrations, I honestly didn’t know it was supposed to be any more “solemn” than my books on Greek and Norse mythologies (which, honestly, probably explains a lot). The images are some of the earliest art I was exposed to and some of them (like this one) still really speak to me.
