No one is gonna give a flying fuck about this post but yall should go play Last Command. My gonk ass is too shit at games to ever beat it but it deserves more tumblrites being insane about it.
i got super back into last command this week if you like undertale's bullet hell shenanigans id recommend giving it a go
if you dont like undertale's bullet hell shenanigans id still recommend giving it a go (i am very biased)
The fact that I don't have this bumper sticker anymore is a crime against the metal gods.

I love Talon Karrde. He's that perfect combination of self-serving and loyal.
I hope one day you'll be canon again my sweet prince 🥲
I made a post last summer about this game, which has since come out not only on Steam, but also the Switch. I finally got around to playing through it, and I gotta say, it's really cool, and I hope bringing it up again will get more people to check it out.
Gameplay-wise, it's a combination of Snake and a bullet hell shooter, but the further in you get the more evident it becomes that it's primarily drawing inspiration from Undertale, especially when it starts color-coding how to interact with enemy projectiles. It was a really fresh idea and one that I was very happy to sink my teeth into, especially since it provided a hearty challenge even on the standard difficulty. The stuff in-between those fights is pretty bland, but with even a basic level of competence you can blaze through it real quickly to get back to the good stuff.
Story-wise, it's endearingly hackish. Like, it's very transparent where the creator took whole chunks of this game's story from, but I think it's charming, especially since it uses those elements to build to a different message.
If any of that sounds appealing, there's a demo available on Steam!
