To enter the sweepstakes, parents or legal guardians must submit an online entry form at www.wvtreasury.gov/fundthefuture.  To Be Eligible: Entries must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. Child must be 17 or younger. Child AND parent or legal guardian must be a resident of West Virginia. Only one entry per eligible child permitted. Applications Being Accepted for West Virginia K-12 Students Through June 15 CHARLESTON, W.Va. – State Treasurer Larry Pack, who serves as Chairman of the Hope Scholarship Board, today announced that more than 20,000 students have applied for full funding of the Hope Scholarship Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This milestone comes after Treasurer Pack announced in March that all West Virginia children in grades K-12 are now eligible to apply for the program. “With more than 20,000 applications in our system, we have already surpassed the 15,000 students who were approved for full funding of the Hope Scholarship in the 2025-2026 school year. It is clear parents are taking advantage of additional options within our education system to find the best fit for their child’s unique needs,” Treasurer Pack said. “It’s exciting to see the exponential growth year after year with more families taking advantage of the Hope Scholarship Program. I would like to thank my team for working tirelessly to process these applications as we continue to receive more in the coming weeks.” Of the 20,000 applications, more than 11,800 are returning Hope Scholarship recipients who submitted their Continuing Participation Confirmations. More than 8,100 are new students who applied for the program. Existing private school and traditional homeschool students who have not previously been eligible for the Hope Scholarship Program are now eligible to apply to participate in the State’s Education Savings Account program that provides funding to students exercising school choice in lieu of attending public school full-time. The application deadline for new students to receive full funding for the Hope Scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year is June 15. Applications are available online at www.HopeScholarshipWV.gov. A student application submitted within the following dates will receive the associated level of Hope Scholarship funding: - March 2-June 15: 100% of Hope Scholarship annual award amount. - June 16-Sept. 15: 75% of Hope Scholarship annual award amount. - Sept. 16-Nov. 30: 50% of Hope Scholarship annual award amount. - Dec. 1-Feb. 28: 25% of Hope Scholarship annual award amount. Current Hope Scholarship students who wish to renew their participation in the program during the 2026-2027 school year have until June 15 to submit their Continuing Participation Confirmations. The Hope Scholarship award amount varies each school year depending on the amount of state aid funding per pupil provided to county boards of education for public school students. The scholarship amount for the 2026-2027 school year $5,435.62. Scholarship funds will now be distributed on a quarterly basis. CHARLESTON, W.Va. – State Treasurer Larry Pack announced today his Office’s Unclaimed Property Division returned more than $10 million worth of funds to individuals, businesses and organizations during the month of March. “It’s always great to put money back into the pockets of West Virginians, but this month, our team went above and beyond to locate these lost funds. We were able to return more than $10 million to rightful owners across the state including large businesses, residents, and others,” Treasurer Pack said. “My Office still has more than $500 million worth of listings in our database, so I encourage everyone to keep checking our website because you never know if there may be unclaimed property funds in your name.” The Unclaimed Property Division returned a total of $10,127,883 paid out across 1,890 claims representing 12,698 individual properties during the month of March. The top five recipients to receive the highest amount of unclaimed property this month include: - Vandalia Health, Inc.: $354,125.46 - A Charles Town estate: $77,985.34 - An individual in Jane Lew: $69,734.94 - A Chester estate: $50,604.73 - A Morgantown estate: $48,415.66 Since the start of Fiscal Year 2026, which began on July 1, 2025, the Treasurer’s Office has returned more than $27,393,689 to rightful owners. WAR, W.Va. – State Treasurer Larry Pack on Wednesday joined U.S. Senator Jim Justice to celebrate the start of National Financial Literacy Month and to present a Get a Life Community Volunteer Award to Sarah Muncy, Communities in Schools Coordinator, during a financial education budget activity for students at Southside K-8 School in McDowell County. “I am proud to present this Community Volunteer Award to Sarah Muncy who worked closely with my Office for years to bring our Get a Life program to McDowell County,” Treasurer Pack said. “I want to thank Senator Justice for expanding the Communities in Schools initiative to all 55 West Virginia counties when he was Governor. This is an important program that is meant to help children statewide achieve goals in school, in the workforce, and in life with the proper resources. Financial literacy is a vital skill, and I want all West Virginia students to have the opportunity to learn how to make good financial decisions at an early age.” Treasurer Pack, alongside Senator Justice, presented the award to Muncy, a longtime volunteer of the Get a Life Program, during Wednesday afternoon’s Get a Life event in War. The program teaches both basic math skills and problem-solving techniques. “I’m grateful to receive the Volunteer Award—it means a lot to be recognized, but more than anything it reflects something I truly enjoy doing,” Muncy said. “I like being able to help where I can and be part of something positive. I also enjoy the Get a Life program because it gives me the opportunity to connect with others and help our students learn about real-life scenarios, so they feel more prepared and confident in the world around them.
