( ) --- A little rain never hurt anybody; or at least, that’s what Chell had thought. The one rainstorm she had experienced during her short time on the outside was pleasant, light an nothing special. This rain didn’t look to be any different, but the first drop that hit her shoulder felt more like a harsh bite. Each drop stung at her skin, leaving red burn marks up her arms. Hunched over in hopes of shielding herself well enough in the time for her to find real shelter, the woman clutched her weapon close to her chest and ran.
Soon enough she’d be lucky enough to find one of the warehouses along the docks. The gun, luckily enough, gave her small respite in its shortcuts. A clear shot into a wall through an open window and another on a crusty wall of concrete gave her a quick path to shelter.
Now of course, she wasn’t there alone. Chell had apparently stumbled upon someone else’s hideout. But, whether this other woman liked it or not, Chell was decidedly stuck here until the acid rain passed. She glanced over at her company for a moment, gave her a quick nod in acknowledgement, then moved on to unpack her small bag of salvaged supplies. Maybe not the most polite greeting, in retrospect. --- ( )
