even tho NS updates mondays, I sometimes go back through the rest of the week when the page is exceptional. this week I came back every single day because seiji's face journey is just so delightful. thanks for writing one of the best comics out there.
Hey, I love your blog! We have 4H rabbits that are probably just going to be pets, because they are not show-worthy and we can't really do breeding. So our little shitheads will tear apart any toy held together by anything other than metal. I saw in your pics to that "you're being meeeeeaaaaaan" ask you have baby chew rings. how do those hold up? are they good, or do those buns just not chew much?
they hold up so so. some of them chew more than others, but mostly they just unsnap and get thrown in a corner to get peed on. if your rabbits are power chewers i probably wouldn’t recommend them, but for what it’s worth i’ve never had anyone have gut issues from eating plastic - they grind it into little bits and just poop it out apparently
for big chewers i recommend chunks of untreated wood (we just use cutoffs from whatever project is currently in progress).
"why can't you work" sounds awfully close to "justify your existence" and that's a fucking heinous thing to say to someone.
It really is. I’m not thin-skinned by any stretch of the imagination, but this sort of thing really gets under it. Like, what anon said isn’t what stings, they’re just being benignly clueless or maybe an asshole or whatever. What stings is that this is the attitude of 99% of the nondisabled world, and that they feel entitled to our history, not as part of our stories and who we are but as a metric by which to judge our worthiness or unworthiness of support.
So like, don’t ask questions like that unless you have a very good reason to. And wanting to decide for yourself whether a person is worthy or not is absolutely not a good reason. It’s a dickhead reason. I’m on SSI and they don’t give that out for papercuts. It’s legit. Deal with it.
hey that frieddiscourse blog looks like it might be aphobic.
Yep. Not long after I reblogged it someone let me know they think people who use ‘pan’ are biphobic and added a disclaimer about that, so hatin’ on ace/aro people would be totally in keeping with that. Sigh. I thought the one post I reblogged made a good point about the diversity of bisexuality, but so much of their other stuff is like... “I got mine, now everyone else can go fuck themselves.”
Like with TERFs, i don’t automatically deplatform exclusionists, but I’ve added my “problematicity” tag.

Hey, everyone!
Time to let you know what we are gonna be doing with this blog! My abso fave person Lily is a trans girl who didn’t get to enjoy.... perhaps i should say “enjoy”?....the fine literature offered to young ladies of the tween and early teen age ranges. So we are going to read them together!
Lily will be liveblogging her opinions here as she reads, and once she’s done we will record a discussion of the book together.
Our first book is one of the first American Girl books, Meet Kirsten!
Check back later for posts introducing both of us, and we’ll update shortly on expected dates for the liveblog and discussion.

CLIIIIIFF! my wife came out to my parents as a trans girl last night and they were like "oh okay cool" (we didn't think they'd be like "ahh nooooo you're disowned" but it was still scary, y'know?) so now i can use the right name and pronouns when i talk about her to my family and she can dress in what makes her comfortable and that part is over and it all went fine
CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so glad that went well for you and your wife. I know the flood of relief that can come with even a neutral response to coming out. That’s awesome that she can be herself around your family.
