Laneway Festival 2015: Singapore Edition
This year's Laneway brought in big indie acts such as FKA Twigs, Chet Faker and introduced more asian flavour by bringing in not only local singaporean acts but also from our nearest neighbour Malaysia too.
I have a confession to make. For starters, I enjoyed Laneway 2014 more than what this year had to offer. Here are some reasons why:
I think the most popular one would have to be Banks vs Chet Faker. Personally for myself, I had no problem with that because I've been a big fan of Banks. Heck, I think I wouldn't have gone to this year's Laneway if it wasn't for her. (just like how lotsa people pulled out after Lykke Li was gone) But then again, I would've loved to have a chance to check out Chet Faker live.
That round bend you have to make to get to the cloud stage. No-no. It somehow made me feel like it was secluded from everything else and not connected together like 2014.
Last year's line-up was definitely way, wayyyy better. There were better acts to enjoy. Bigger names. Better music.
2014's designs were so awesome. I love orange but I felt that this year's designs could've been better.
On a brighter note, here were the highlights for me this year. Or more like what I had the chance to check out:
The lovely songtress was definitely the highlight of my night. She gave a great performance besides having trouble hearing herself through the stage mix, I think. I might be dreaming but I think she teared at one point of time. She was so enchanting with her sultry vocals and quirky movements. Such a sight to behold.

BIG THANKS TO LANEWAY FOR THIS! COME BACK SOON BANKS X
Reppin' Malaysia, it was my first time watching them and I loved their music. Props to Faliq who was basically a one-man band jumping from keys to guitar to cymbals. Great electropop music with awesome beats and guitar riffs.
Jungle was basically awesome groovy feel good music and they definitely had everybody up on their feet. So good.
Does she need any introduction? She slayed the stage with her awesome vocals, stage presence and quirky dance moves. Did you see the way she moved? Did you hear that awesome falsetto note? Wow. She definitely brought it live, man.
Mmhmm. From their popular hits to that awesome rendition of Grease's You're The One That I Want. Lovely treat.

Besides the music, there were more food booths to choose from (but I still stuck to COW and Kith though lulz) and activity areas. I bet the charging booths came in handy for those with no powerbank juice.
I really hope next year's Laneway would be even better. Please top 2014's pretty please? If you need any ideas on who to bring in, you can ask me! *Hint* Purity Ring *Hint*
