Joseph Liebgott was quite odd she felt - he smoked 3 cigarettes a day, sat with his boots on the bed, and his hair was a constant companion to his hand which ran through it almost daily. It had been sheer dumb luck that she had happened to succumb to her wounds the day a nasty piece of shrapnel had also tore into his neck, sending them both to a field hospital before being sent to England.

Now, she got to be by his side for 3 weeks or more now, listening to his snores, the obnoxious chuckle from his lips as he read in that Dick Tracy comic book, or the snooty 'pfft' that left his lips when he was annoyed by the slightest movement of another. And it seemed his annoyance with her struggling to stand was one of this inconveniences that happened to annoy him today.

The sun would be rising soon.

The cold of the night was beginning to wear off finally, the bitter chill of rain dripping down the soldiers' backs a distant memory. But Natia could still let out a puff of air and see it rise into the indigo sky.

She sat beside George again, the usual passing of the cigarette becoming something like a tradition when there were no words for the 5 am cigarette except to pass something warm between the hands of another you cared for. The intimacy of a cigarette being passed in the silence of unanswered questions between two exhausted people.

HELLO!!!!! early update because of school AND double chapter update today my friends and we are in for a WILD ride! the end of chapter 36 is one that has been planned for quite some time and one that is....well let’s just say it will take the story to quite an interesting period of time for a few chapters!!!! which i’m super excited to unveil!! :D i hope you all enjoy the chapters today and more importantly have a great day yourselves!!! happy reading my friends and make sure to keep yourself hydrated today!! <3

Natia slowly crouched beside the enemy with the bullet through his head, staring at the drying blood along his fractured facial features. She hadn't even taken second thought to shooting him. Natia sighed as she crouched beside the body, her eyes squeezing shut for a moment. This had been Felicjan - body sprawled on the ground surrounded by the enemy and Death himself. The blood. The way his body fell upon the ground. The lifeless look in his eyes.

" Hey," Natia looked up and found Sergeant Toye standing up beside her, his body enough to block out the persistent sun.

Her eyes were staring at the wooden ceiling of the darkened barn, glowing in the corner where Lip lay awake, his gentle eyes keeping an attentive gaze on the sleeping soldiers in the proximity. Her heart ached - she wasn't quite sure why, like something was missing, this unknown feeling inside of her trying to crawl out all the sudden. 

She had tried for the most part to ignore it of course, any normal person would've done the same - she wasn't quite normal and she figured that's why it ached quite like it did. But she supposed that sleepless nights were normal at this point.

Natia vaguely remembered Agent Mortem the night previous telling her as to why he would no longer refer to her simply by Fidel - her evidently ironic codename to which she'd gone by for quite some time now. 

No, Agent Mortem, liked to tack on 'Agent', he felt it better represented the work she were doing, her importance on her missions - to be able to be addressed by a term such as Agent, instead of simply just Fidel, he thought was a power move. But he was always feeding off power. Natia wanted nothing to do with it. But Agent Mortem had continuously called her Agent and so she went by it now - it was better than nothing.

Happy first day of 2021!!!! :) You’ve made it! You’re here! Look how far YOU’VE come and look how far WE’VE come!!! It’s quite fantastic I must say! Let’s hope for good health, happiness and joy in all of our futures! And what better way to start of 2021 with a Landslide update LOL!!! This is definitely where things start to get...interesting. I won’t elaborate but things definitely take a bit of a turn, an interesting one at that! AND this time last year, I was near the end of Sunshine Soldier (OMG) and it’s updates and I cant believe this year I’m here! I would’ve never imagined that ah!!! So, let’s ring in 2021 with ALL THE GOOD VIBES!!!! Thank you for all your support and love, it’s been wonderful and I can’t thank you all enough! <3

Natia's mind was too alive for her as they rolled through the grassy plains and forestation of the outskirts of Eindhoven, Holland towards Nuenen. The men were alive with life, conversation spilling from their tongues, chuckles emitting and conversation of food following.

Natia wished to attempt to intermingle within them, but the fear for what she had guessed prior lingered in her mind. She knew the Nazis were there, in Nuenen, she knew they were hidden up amongst the corners of the buildings, undercover for the moment, watching an unsuspecting cartel of American paratroopers slowly draw closer in their wake.

DOUBLE UPDATE DAY!!!!! :D I posted an announcement yesterday, reblogging a few day old post of mine about it, but I’m not sure where it even went entirely - somewhere under this one AHA!!! If you’ve noticed, I haven’t been on much like I normally am - I can thank statistics for that (lol!) but that’s okay!!! Sometimes you need those days away a bit. And....I can say my attention span is not what it was, and has dwindled quite greatly and I’m trying to work with it, but it does suck. I’ve gotten distracted a lot recently and my brain scrambles quite a lot too. But writing has been the thing to really help center me and focus me. Writing has really helped me more than ANYTHING! And being able to post Landslide and its story has just been wonderful to come back to and anchor with!!! :D

So yeah, that’s where I’ve been personally, but I’m hoping I can get all the way back on my feet by next week - this week did suck more than I wanted it to - so yeah! Calm down statistics PLEASE (LMAO!!) Sorry for the minor emotional pour out there, just wanted to keep those of you here updated on it!!! I hope you enjoy the chapters today - these two really go hand and hand and were actually one big chapter but it was way too long for that and so I split it into two - important connections and dynamics are established I’ll say!!!
