I’m in too deep. surrounded by sharks that tear chunks off me without my knowledge, swimming in circles around my happiness. drawn in by the sound of laughter and the smell of sweat and sex. the strange part is, these sharks are masquerading as my friends. aquatic monsters of the deep in civillian clothing, smothered in makeup and cologne. I could almost be dreaming. for a while there, I swear I was. the ocean was too tender, too caressing, too loving. the waves tucked my hair behind my ear and kissed my forehead, and the seaweed held me tight all through the night. but now, the oceans true nature is beginning to show.. I’m being thrown from place to place. my faltering strength is no longer considered, and it would seem the ocean has sided with the descending sharks. and yet in a waking moment, I wonder if I’m lost at sea at all, or if I’m just too paranoid to see that I’m safer than I’ve ever been.
