One thing Rose had a hard time dealing with was asking questions that could obviously lead to closed wounds being reopened, however she wanted or needed to know about Liaâs mother. Quite frankly, part of her didnât want to know but the other part did. She had been spending so much time with the young girl she couldnât help but notice there wasnât a mother in the picture. Rose wanted to know what happened, if they were good terms if or if they werenât in good terms. It just didnât sit right with Rose knowing that she growing a bond with someone that wasnât even her own daughter ( even though she wishes she could have one of her own ).
She approaches Derek, slightly picking at her sleeves like how her sister would when she nervous. If anyone noticed, the lights were flickering some in response to her emotions. Thankfully she wasnât showing any electricity since being a walking battery pack ready to burst wasnât never fun to begin with. However, she had to swallow her nerve and ask, a potential painful question to the man she learned to care for. â Um, Derek. â She begins to say while she trying to find her words to word the question properly or better yet, not over explain why sheâs asking this type of question to begin with.Â
As far she knew, Derek was and is single, had kids but didnât have a wedding band on or any photos of someone who shared some the resemblance to Lia. â This is going to be a very personal question, and you donât have to answer fully if you donât want to but Iâm curious. â Here it comes, â Where is Liaâs mother? I never hear her bring her mother up or talk about her and it wouldnât feel right if I ask her, thatâs not my place so I thought Iâd ask you. â She finally says, still nervous of course Rose still wants to get one more thing out before sheâs ready to hear an answer. â I donât want to replace her, or try to be her in anyway, I guess-- â how is she to put this before she goes off in rambles? â I guess what I mean to say is, I donât wan to make it seem like Iâm trying to be her mother when Iâm just....a close friend of her father. â Even to this day, Rose didnât know what to label Derek in her mind. They had spent time together, went out together, shared meals ( Hell, she did cook for him ) but she wasnât ready to call it a relationship; part of her heart still belonged to Nathaniel Lee, the boy who loved her to the ends of the earth but walked away all the same.Â
Instinct wanted her to run, but something about Derek Hale seemed to pull her back in ways she didnât know and she figured, if they were going to get closer there were somethings that needed to be brought to the surface and maybe this was the day it was going to happen. Â Â Â Â
