My Recipe for Lammas Bread
INGREDIANTS:
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup (warm) water
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 1/2 cups flour
(The poppy seed, lemon zest and juice, rosemary, and cinnamon are all optional; feel free to make your own mix!)
1 tablespoon poppy seed
1 teaspoon lemon zest (or guesstimate like I did)
Lemon juice (I just did a quartered lemon and squeezed it)
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
Pinch of black pepper
Sprinkle of cinnamon
MAKE:
Before you start preheat your oven to 375* (Fahrenheit) or 190* (Celsius)
1. In a medium sized bowl, mix yeast, warm water (i used sun water just for fun), salt, and sugar; let sit for about 10 minutes.
2. After 10 minutes of letting it sit, add the olive oil and flour. Knead for 10 minutes.
3. When you’re done kneading, add your herbs, pepper, and cinnamon. Knead this for another 5 minutes.
3. Once done kneading, let rest for an hour in an oiled, covered bowl.
4. Bake for 20-30 minutes (TIP: Put an ice tray underneath to get your bread to rise and bake through)
5. Congrats! You’re done, enjoy your bread and be proud of yourself!!

Decorative bread sounds fun... until you’re spending 15 minutes hand-placing sunflower seeds
Anyway, Lammas bread 😊🥖

The lazy witch who never remembers the sabbats just made her first ever Lammas bread! It smells devine and I'm so proud of myself. In the morning when it's cooled I'm going to give a slice as an offering.
