A un lado del Mercado Central de Valencia se encuentra La Llotgeta, un hermoso edificio construido en 1914, con piedra, ladrillo, hierro y cerámica, en estilo ecléctico y neo-medievalista, con ciertos elementos modernistas decorativos. Destaca en todo el edificio el marcado contraste del ladrillo rojizo con los paneles cerámicos y los detalles decorativos de piedra blanca de puertas y ventanas. Sobre el conjunto sobresale el pináculo central que se eleva sobre el mismo centro de la construcción. Inicialmente fue la Oficina Municipal de Administración de Mercados, y en la actualidad es un reconocido centro cultural: Fundación Mediterráneo.
