Can't believe I drew this comic in 2023 (before SMT V Vengeance was ever announced), then completely forgot to post it π

It's been bugging me for years that I couldn't put my finger on why Lahmu in SMTV looked so damn familiar. It might not have been intentional but it's definitely the spitting image of Ido-senin from gegege no kitaro!
Heads up, Lahmu from SMTV is coming soon to Dx2.
Doi's Eldritch hairball has a new lease on life!
Summon the new 5β demon Lahmu! Lahmu Summons Incoming!

Something that's been nagging me since the reveal of Doi's Eisheth design is that it shares a weird amount of visual motifs with Lahmu's pseudo-nahobino worm thing. The better part of me wants to say it's just coincidence. Since I can't imagine how or why they'd be related anyhow. But even with Doi's proclivity for abstract patterns on his designs, the similarity between the two makes it hard for me to just chalk it up to coincidence.
Yeah, they aren't dissimilar. Lahmu's strikes me more as a patch of barnacle-like pustules than the flatter, more ornamental circular patterns on Eisheth, though. It can be hard to parse with Doi's brand of horror-vacui. Actually, now that I look at them together, they do both have Flo-Jo nails, and a broadly similar triangle meander on the crest of their heads; maybe there's some meat to this.
In any case, I'm sure they'll strain a connection between him and the Qadistu for the new scenario, in one way or another.
