12 years ago, I took my Dad down to Louisiana for his bomber squad reunion. We stopped in New Orleans, but could tell he was uncomfortable with the party scene on Bourbon. I took him to Lafittes Blacksmith Shop and got him a Dixie Beer. It was like being transported back into his time. He loved it and looking back, it was one of those happy times I could make for him.
