To (Caffe) LâAffare
Have we been blessed with LâAffareâs presence or what?
Side note: yes, I often call it caffe lâaffare, what-everrrr
Wellington has long cherished the local brand, and itâs cafe, for well over two decades and itâs pretty clear why. Lâaffare coffee is bang on delicious, with clear lingering flavours and that oomph you need in the morning (Yes domestic espresso machines give me life, thank you Trade Me).
Now of course the very basics of this blog need to be covered. Are they fairly traded? Uh Yeaahhh. They are very much fairtrade and organic dude - you know, just everything you need in a cup of coffee really. These guys partner with Trade Aid (just like Peoples Coffee do from my understanding) to ensure that everyone who works towards bringing that cup of coffee to our lips are treated right.
Additionally, they care about their carbon footprint and are taking steps towards minimising carbon emissions as much as they can. Now that makes me wonder (as I write this) if buying coffee from their store means that my coffee grind will be in a compostable bag! (Unfortunately Moore Wilsons donât sell coffee in compostable bags as far as I know, which makes me wonder if itâs a supermarket standard that coffee bags are lined in plastic/foil craziness? So that it has longer shelf life? Makes sense right?). Ok Iâm making a note of that! Weâre checking that out once the cafe reopens!
So letâs keep it short and sweet, yeah? Is the coffee delicious? You bet it is. Is it fair? Dude duh. Is it organic? Is it even worth drinking if itâs not? Does it love itâs environment and itâs community? Yup and yeap
So I think youâve got another Welly coffee brand to add to your list of faves (lol just joking because we all know you already have them down)
Me te aroha xx
