Guilt spikes through her as she watches him rub at his temple, where she’d punched him. Though she had done it to save his life, and it’s clear that both of them know that with a near crystal clarity, she still feels horrible about what she had done and the words that had accompanied it. She gives him a weak but no less sincere smile as he takes her hand tightly, and returns the squeeze without hesitation. Winter exhales a deep sigh of relief when he says he’s not mad, but that he’s grateful for what she did. “Well, okay then.
