my alnst oc secret santa gift for the very cool @chibassy of their lovely ocs, Laena and Effie! sorry for how. . . nuclear the colors are, that wasn't originally my intention, i just wanted them to glow, but i thought it looked good anyways and so i ran with it. i was originally inspired by the work written about Laena and Effie's first meeting and how they were both insistent on protecting/saving one another, so Effie is protectively curled around Laena but out of the two of them, Laena is the one with real influence, which makes for a tasty dynamic!

Drawing out and planning what happens to laeffie in their season and since im a sucker for a good ending— no one is dying! They just stuck in separation and guilt angst

Around 7-10 years after canon, the ALNST entertainment returns after heavy involvement and funding by the seygein Eden. She promised the season to have perfected human emotions and ‘connections’ by pitting it as a pair vs pair performance- where human pets’ bonds would mean they sing for the sake of their loved one rather than rebel.
Laena and Effie (mostly Laena) were the face of the new season— lasting many rounds. Laena flourished, knowing that after winning the season she gets Effie to herself safely; her reward for winning. Effie however struggles with taking lives in each round. She gets more and more disillusioned and desperate. Effie always swore she has to save Laena from the stage after all.
It would be the semi finale in which Effie breaks. Despite winning, Effie grabs Laena to escape- seeing their chance by the hidden rebellion at the time. There was a warning shot that however grazed Laena instead. Effie was dragged away and rescued by the Rebellion. Laena was quickly saved by her seygein Eden, who then locks her away in her healing process and forever more. Laena is Eden’s prized possession and ‘daughter’.
Laeffie is basically separated from then on but Effie probably finds Laena somehow and they escape into the rebellion together bc i have enough of doomed yuri…this is the happy ending au for now lol
