it's not until she's actually let into the turner house that shauna considers the fact she's never been here before. for months, she shared an attic with @ladyintree, but she's never even actually been inside her home— but it's only a passing thought, something that fades from her mind just as quickly as it came. shauna's too worried about other things, like all the reporters constantly swarming around like vultures, even worse in the past couple days. it's only been two days since mikayla desousa's face has been plastered all over the news, but already, stories are circulating— people whispering about how the trauma of being stranded out in the wilderness is what made mikayla snap. and already, rumors of the crime scene have been spread, how bloody it was, how you could hardly recognize her father's face.
shauna's been trying not to think about how jealous she feels— how she misses it.
she wanted to go to tai when she first found out, but she needs to have an actual conversation with her, so she waited— gave tai time to process all of it. it's been really inconvenient for her, because of course the only one on their team with any sense of reason also just happens to be her girlfriend. or wife, if they're still delusional enough to believe in that.
"have you talked to her?" she asks the moment they're alone in tai's room, deciding to skip any attempt at small talk. she doesn't want to ask how tai's been if it means shauna has to talk about how she's been— how quiet her bedroom feels without jackie's presence, how suffocating the taylors have been, because she came home, but their daughter didn't. she doesn't want to talk about any of it.
she'd had days to consider how to approach this subject, but she decides to just come out with it.
