Tom had sat with Ned and Kate for several hours the night before, he'd been content enough to watch her sleep... To see her and talk to Ned and know that she was being taken care of. But she hadn't woken even once and the sight of her looking so exhausted in bed had scared him. From the moment he'd received the text from Ned, he'd felt like his heart had been in his throat. He'd been up this morning at first light, barely being able to make himself wait until a somewhat reasonable hour before setting out for the hospital. He'd asked Allie to pack a few things in a bag for Kate and he'd packed a few more things for Ned, knowing that until Kate was more stable, Ned wouldn't be leaving her side.
When he'd arrived at Kate's room, he found Ned was fast asleep on a sofa that hadn't been there the night before and Kate was still asleep. He set the bags down to the side and moved to stand beside her. The bed looked far too big for her... And there were so many tubes and wires that, combined with how exhausted she still looked, completely terrified him. He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead before sitting beside her and carefully taking hold of her hand, "I'm here, Little One." A name he'd teased her with, but there was no teasing in his voice now.

❝ send me ♔♔ for an edit of our muses ❞ : ( selectively accepting )
When a woman's CRUELTY is combined with love and devotion,
it is almost always without exception an act performed not out of treachery,
but as a painful self-sacrifice for the good of her LOVED ONES. Womankind
always seems to be able to see a dozen steps into the future, far ahead of what
men are able to see. And they have strength where men do not.
❝ Cat, ❞ Robert greeted for the second time that day with a broad grin growing ‘cross his puffed cheeks. He’d always been fond of his friend’s wife ( in fact, he found her more sensible and more tolerable than most women he’d met in his life ), and so coming to Winterfell had ultimately been like visiting two old friends. Now that visiting the crypts had been over with and the feast was being prepared, Robert found that wandering the familiar corridors would have been a better adventure than spending his time among his wife and children. Large hands clasped her shoulders and then pulled her into some resemblance of an embrace before he pulled away. ❝ It’s been too long since I’ve seen you both -- and those kids of yours all look like you. ❞
So, I just wanted to say a little ‘I’m very, very, very sorry’ to @lady--catelyn-stark , @handofhonor and @worshipsonlydeath for being so terribly slow with replies lately. I’ve had so much on lately and I let my drafts build up like crazy... But everything is queued now and hopefully I can be better organised! Thank you for being so very patient with me!

2. Are there any plot tropes you are sick of / refuse to RP? If so, what are they and why?
( answered here but I’ll copy && paste my answer ) Since I’ve had this blog for about six months, there hasn’t been enough time for me to GET SICK OF any plots or tropes just yet. However, there have always been topics that I refuse to roleplay because they make me incredibly uncomfortable. These include incest ( regarding my own characters ), graphic rape / otherwise non-consensual storylines, and mpreg. Aside from the serious and heavy, I have a slight problem with Love Tringles. It’s too cliché, and I’m sick to death of seeing it everywhere in the mainstream media. What bothers me the most is not how common it is though, it’s that in almost every Love Triangle storyline, one of the characters involved is usually grossly villainised in a most unfair way. I try to stay away from cliché tropes as a whole, but this is my biggest pet peeve.
3. As a mun, what are three of your biggest flaws when it comes to being someone’s RP partner?
ONE: My replying speed is incredibly sporadic. Sometimes I can write up a dozen replies in one night, and other times, it takes me weeks to respond to a single thread. Every roleplay partner I’ve had so far has been incredibly understanding about this, but I guess it must be a little annoying to deal with such a weird writing cycle.
TWO: I can really go over the top with descriptions in my threads. I usually have to edit my replies at least once after I finish writing them, so that a simple two-paragraph thread doesn’t become a full-blown novella one. While some people enjoy lengthy threads, it’s not courteous to dramatically change the length of the interaction ( unless it proceeds slowly between the partners ) without checking with the other party first, so I really do try to keep it under control. Just because I like rambling about the colour of the curtains and the condition of the furniture in the setting doesn’t mean everyone likes reading about it.
THREE: I’m awful when it comes to keeping up with my ask box. Just awful. I know a lot of people must think I’m ignoring them, but it’s honestly not the case. Whenever I see a new message, I always go ‘Alright, let me type this one reply and then I’ll return to my inbox.’ And after the reply is done… ‘lo and behold, I forgot all about the message I’d received. Which reminds me, I should really check out my ask box as soon as I’m done with this post.
5. Have you ever RP’d with someone simply because of their character’s faceclaim, even if you did not like their character’s personality?
Nope. I DO think that someone’s faceclaim should match their character to a certain extent, and I’ll admit that I have encountered a few faceclaims that I thought were… well, not exactly fitting. But I’ve never been influenced by a faceclaim to the extent that I chose to interact with someone whom I wouldn’t have done so otherwise.
7. List three honest flaws your favourite character has and talk about how those flaws make them problematic.
( Instead of my ‘favourite’ character, I’m going to write about Alys and the flaws she has in my headcanons. Because of reasons. )
ONE: Alys is very JUDGEMENTAL. And I don’t mean it in a regular way that everyone ( real or fictional ) is to a degree. We all have prejudices and we all project them on other people sometimes, and that’s normal. Most of us also try to unlearn and move past them, and that’s what counts. But my precious Alys… well, doesn’t make any effort. I came up with this headcanon because most Westerosi ( especially Northmen ) are very pig-headed when it comes to their beliefs and perceptions of the world, and she was raised in such an environment. She might not be as savage as most of the men we see in the series, but she’s definitely not a very open-minded and accepting individual. And it causes a great problem in her relationships, especially towards people who were raised in different cultures. She’s very quick to label people, often in a very cliché manner.
TWO: Alys doesn’t lack for wits, but she can be IMPATIENT and SHORT-TEMPERED. This could mostly be attributed to how young she is, as she is barely sixteen in canon and patience is usually something people develop with age. But she’s definitely got a temper, and it’s not charming. What’s ironic is that she actually despised her own father’s infamous temper, and tries her best to not act like him. But so far, she’s had very little success.
THREE: Although she’s not a sadist who actively goes out of her way to hurt people, often she can be very INSENSITIVE. It’s a very negative trait to have, for she’s not above saying exactly what she knows will hurt the other person if they anger her. Furthermore, she can be quite oblivious to other people’s pain ( since talking about one’s feelings make her uncomfortable ), and may end up hurting even those closest to her without meaning to.
11. What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to RPing?
Well, I’ve got the same pet peeves that everyone’s got: godmodding, ship-forcing, awful spelling and grammar, OOC drama, assuming things about the character(s) I play, et cetera… All these go without saying I’m sure, and I know for a fact that they’re even listed in many people’s rules as ‘what not to do.’ But I’ve got a couple of pet peeves that might be less common.
ONE: I find it very rude when I write someone a great ( and long ) starter / reply and receive only a couple of sentences as a response. I’m not saying you have to match my exact word count. And if you feel like you’re not up for the length I went with, message me and let me know. As long as you give me a heads up about ANYTHING you may not have liked about my reply, there’s a 99.9% chance that I will gladly adjust my own writing to accommodate you. But please don’t throw three sentences to my way as a response to a three paragraphs-long writing and expect me not to feel a little iffy about that. It’s rude, plain and simple.
TWO: Asking for a starter and not replying to it. Like I’ve said before, if there’s anything you dislike about what I wrote for you, message me privately and let me know. I’m always happy to change plots, length and whatever else you may have a problem with. And never be afraid to take your time with your replies or drop a thread - those are not the same thing. I’ve had one roleplay partner in the past who liked every single starter call I’ve made but responded to none of them, and needless to say, we’re not roleplay partners / mutuals anymore. Seriously, don’t be afraid of communication, but don’t make people write you starters if you have no intention of roleplaying with them.
THREE: I don’t like using the words ‘Mary Sue / Gary Stu,’ so let me just phrase it differently: I dislike encountering characters who are portrayed as devoid of any flaws, and are so powerful / strong / smart that they may as well be demi-gods. It’s not my place to tell anyone how to write their character, obviously, so whenever I encounter characters who are written in this manner, I simply choose not to write with them.
13. Who is your least favourite character in the fandom you RP in? List three admirable traits about them.
My least favourite character in A Song of Ice and Fire would have to be… Gregor Clegane. And I’m all for dissecting complex characters and finding admirable qualities in villains, I really am, but come on now. The Douche That Rides has no admirable trait whatsoever, and we all know it.
As Ned watched the servants continue to load up the trunks in the courtyard, his eye continued to throb. Brandon’s fist had left its mark the night before well and truly. Though the pain of it was no small thing, he found it nothing when compared to the agony of what had transpired on the lead up to it. He’d not blamed his brother for being angry, for he and Cat had both known they’d been wrong. They’d felt the weight... The guilt for years... Though it had not stopped them... For what they had done was surely wrong, but he could not call it that. Catelyn and the children were his world... And he could not regret a single moment of them. But Gods how he wished there had been some way to spare his brother the pain of it.
When Brandon had declared that he would be leaving for the Eyrie, Ned had felt that his world had turned upside down... But he had accepted his punishment... He had been in the wrong and he could not blame his brother for not wanting to have to lay eyes on him each and every day.
But when Ned had heard that Brandon was sending Cat away... Sending her to Riverrun alone, without the children... He had seen red. He loved his brother, but the man was a damn pig headed fool. Until now he had not once believed him capable of such cruelty. He had gone to him, tried to talk reason to him, but it had only seemed to anger his brother more. Ned had not stopped him or tried to fight back when Brandon shoved him against the wall... For surely he deserved this... But when he’d mentioned Cat... Mentioned how he would make her pay by making sure she was a stranger to her own children, Ned had pushed back. He’d seen in that moment that Brandon was not doing this because he needed space from his wife... But rather because he wanted to hurt her.
As he gingerly touched below his eye, Ned wondered if Brandon was sporting a similar look this morning... And to his shame he found that he did not care. He stayed out of the way of the servants as he crossed the courtyard, making his way towards the small Sept and hurrying inside before anyone noticed him.
He watched her for a moment, knelt in prayer with her eyes closed, and he felt a tightening in his chest at the knowledge that soon she would be gone from him. He could not fathom a world in which he could not see Catelyn and their children every day, and as he quietly walked towards her, he felt that crushing feeling grow. He stopped behind her, wanting to reach forward and touch her hair, but not wanting to interrupt her when she was at prayer.
