Far as I've got towards chasing out the air leak from the inlet manifold on the #lacquerpeelexpress today. Access to some of the cap bolts is a tiny bit awkward, and I haven't quite got the right combination of hex tools to reach them at the moment. PCV valve grommet has failed, presumably due to the weight of the breather filter fitted in the valve's place, or the poor fit of the adaptor for the filter. This evening's 15 minute job on the #lacquerpeelexpress actually only took that long, which almost never happens. Temperature sensor at the back of the engine; can cause idle issues, so thought I'd change it just to be safe. Easy enough to get to once you pull the coil pack, though you'll want a decent 19mm ratchet spanner, as my 19mm deep socket wouldn't clear the back of the sensor. Handy that the new @gcfabrications strut bar is steel, as my torch wouldn't have stuck to the old aluminium Carbing one. (And if you're wondering about the masking tape, I was trying to see if I was blowing oil out of the dipstick tube. Seems I'm not. #damnpistonrings then.
