I finally made a lackadaisy edit again after months its shitty i need to fine a new editing program to fiddle with because capcut is limiting on what i want to do

My Lackadaisy OC Atlanta!

Her card reads:

Born: November 11, 1894 Atlanta, Georgia

Named after her birthplace, Atlanta carries the heritage of her Puerto Rican parents with her Spanglish-speaking tongue. Her 32 years have seen her live in a variety of places—Puerto Rico, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, the Carolinas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and New York—before her journey brought her to the bustling streets of St. Louis. Atlanta diligently works at the Maribel Hotel, washing laundry with her meticulous touch. Despite that, her heart remains untainted by the illicit activities the hotel is known to host. As a devout minister, Atlanta’s true calling lies far from the underworld’s reach. Atlanta views St. Louis as a fleeting chapter in her life’s story, since she hopes to travel abroad as a missionary as soon as she can afford it.

And I'm gonna explain my stance because this is my page, and all of you are subjected to my thoughts.

1. Rocky doesn't particularly care if his actions hurt others, and sometimes goes out of his way to do so.

Examples) The entire pig farm incident from the comics, knowingly giving Freckle a gun despite knowing that others will be injured/die, Defiance arc, The pilot episode during the quarry scenes, HIS ENTIRE CAREER CHOICE

2. He has a history of reckless behavior and roping others into it

Explanation) Rocky is shown in comics featuring him as a child, causing/intending to cause harm to Freckle. Hitting him in the face to kill a bug, wanting to glue pancakes to him, wanting him to eat glue, shaving freckles face, encouraging him to jump into a dangerous "swimming pit", putting clothes pins on his skin -- although due to the nature of these comics their canon intent is less than certain and Rocky's own age is uncertain as well, making me unsure of how much is just the way Rocky is and how much was childhood-typical reckless curiosity.

3. A lot of his actions in Adult Hood don't stem from a want to cause harm, but rather because he wants Ms. M (and the Lackadaisy in general) to approve of and love him

explanation) Rocky is reckless, sure, but like Tracy said in one of her own posts, his job is exacerbating his natural destructiveness into a more.. concentrated behavior. He isn't hurting or killing or committing crimes because he just wants too, but because he's seeking approval and acceptance from others. While it is self serving, it isn't exactly EVIL. It's desperate and messy and not GOOD, but not EVIL. Which thus, lands him in..

The following paragraphs come from the notes folder in my computer. It was written late at night after I had finished binging every ounce of Lackadaisy content I could find. Starved for content, I obsessively attempted to figure out whatever is happening with the plot, and failed. But hopefully my crackhead thought process is entertaining for anyone out there also interested in the comic as well as offering their own insights...

I believe the same gun Mordecai was given by Atlas (revolver) on the train is given(?) to Mitzi in the flashback referring to “what happened to Atlas” that was only between them. We know it isn’t Mordecai’s gun because he uses only a Colt 1911 (whatever his pistol is called). The flashback is probably a red herring.

We know Atlas and Mitzi’s relationship was on the decline before his death. Atlas’s “habit of picking strays” is described a lot like manipulation, and he is also described as Machiavellian. But Mordecai tells his the gem thief that it wasn’t Mitzi – he could be lying, but what good would that be for a man he plans on killing? Mordecai is called Atlas’s “golden boy” and “little shadow”, context says they were close. Atlas is compared to Leblanc (swamp spirit) as Mordecais’s savior, who is benevolent, saving him from his past and giving him a new future. Sera says that without “him” he is lost again. So why would Mordecai kill or help kill Atlas? He is clearly lost without him, also plain offended when Sera claims he has no problem turning on people. 

I don’t think it was Asa who killed Atlas. His character bio says “…Asa may be remorseful about the fate of his old friend, Atlas, but with looming troubles of hi own, he’s got little time to dwell on it.” Asa and Atlas were known to be sort of friends, and he doesn’t seem actively aggressive towards Mitzi’s attempts at business. Asa may be a gangster, but he’s not exactly the mastermind scheming type. 

So, the Feds are in town. Dom Drogo is very aware of the Marigolds as the top gang, less aware of Lackadaisy as he considers them “the vanquished empire”. He is an overly-friendly and observant fella. Drogo has been meeting with the guy Mordecai interrogates, for seemingly no good reason, as all the information  about the Marigolds is already known, but for some reason they stuck their neck out for it. Asa is trying to clean something up. He is sending Mordecai and the Savoys to tie up and inordinate amount of loose ends having to do with people connected to the Feds. The Feds and Asa are preoccupied with something we currently have no context for. 

“It was a private affair. Or so I thought.” I’m thinking Mordecai and Mitzi know (or at least think they know) what happened to Atlas. They have been keeping it between them, most likely for a good reason. I doubt they had anything directly to do with Atlas’s demise. Mordecai is surprised that Asa Sweet might know something of what happened to Atlas, making him uneasy. There might be more to what happened to Atlas than just what Mordecai and Mitzi are involved in. That something may be tied to what the Feds are investigating, and what Asa is worried about.

On a side note, I’ve thought through any involvement the Savoys might have and I don’t think they have any in the wider conspiracy. I think they just like money and messing with Mordecai. When they broke into his interrogation session all suspicious, I’m assuming that was the aforementioned “jus business” because Mordecai was acting uncharacteristically interested in their hit, or in his own words, “unprofessional’’. 

On a side note regarding the kneecapping incident, I’m guessing that Mordecai was trying to convince Viktor that with Atlas gone he is no longer stuck in gang life and should take the opportunity to retire, and uh shot him, preventing Viktor from being entirely useful muscle as further incentive. So.. he cares?
