Took frantic notes on a couple of interesting talks about neuron-glia interactions the other day. And no, I did not wipe dust off that textbook to take the photo

One thing that I brought from my bujo into my lab notebook was threading! I’ll write the page and line number of the last time I referenced a particular experiment or dataset, and it really helps me trace what I did over several weeks or months, especially when I have a bunch of experiments going on in parallel.
I also use good old fashioned tabs to mark when I learn a new technique and write more in-depth notes about the protocol in my lab notebook.
I am looking to possibly convert over to an all digital lab notebook. What are your Thoughts on them? Pros and cons. Do you still use traditional pen and paper? Comment below. And who did you come to use either form? Was it on your own, or was it common procedure at your lab or from your advisor? #labnotebook #biology #experiment #research #astrophysics #astronomy #phd #physics #lab #Science #astrobiology https://www.instagram.com/p/B2bmNx1BuDg/?igshid=tcpoh9pi83u4
Thought I’d start sharing a bit of my lab notebook on here!

Nothing like planning ahead for when I have my own students and how I want them to create lab notebooks. #asa #agriculture #agricultural #animalscience #science #notebook #definitions #coloredpens #binder #labnotebook #journal #pencil #college #student #futureteacher
#mylife in a nutshell. The hardest part of research for me is constructing a proper #labnotebook I free think in the regular notebook but keep it standard in the carbon copy if I can understand my handwriting when I'm transferring data over #thestruggle (at Ford Hall - Smith College)
Updated the lab notebook to include our undergrad, Kyla Martichuski. She will begin contributing on the #LightBox project soon.
