TIPPLE AND BRINE  has opened in Sherman Oaks on Ventura Blvd and I have to say, I’m super excited because I’m all about seafood.  If you’re down with oysters, octopus, or clams, they’ve got you covered.   And they have some amazing specialty cocktails too.   This place has a great décor and it’s perfect for meeting friends or a casual date night.  Note they are only open for dinner.  Check out their website for times.  I’m telling ya, you’ll love this place. 

One of my favorite restaurants in Toluca Lake is Yuzu sushi.  The only problem is that it’s always so packed and you have to wait for a table.  Well now they have opened up a new location only a block away called KABOSU on Riverside Drivewhich is so genius.  I can now have my favorites at either restaurant like the yellowtail with cilantro and jalapeno, baked crab hand rolls and the spicy popper roll without the wait.  I’m in heaven.

I’m beyond excited to say that CAVATINA tucked away in the back of the Sunset Marquis will be your new favorite date night spot when they open in late January.   James Beard Award winner, Michael Schlow (you might remember him from Top Chef Season One) is opening his first West Coast restaurant with a modern Mediterranean menu.  They will serve everything from snacks such as homemade potato chips with chile-green onion dip and jalapeno tater tots, to entrees like Cauliflower Panna Cotta with Lobster and Caviar, to lamb meatballs.  Cavatina will also serve breakfast and lunch so this place is an absolute must. 

If you haven’t had a chance to check out TUNING FORK on Ventura Place in Studio City yet, you need to go now.  I love the ambiance and the food is terrific.  You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.  So good!!!  If you don’t know by now, Ventura Place is soon to be a happening street with Joan’s on 3rd coming early next year as well.  I love that Studio City is really becoming a super chic area.  Check out Tuning Fork today.
