I was really hoping last year when he was making the news that BTS would have the opportunity/desire to cut ties.

I don’t like him, and I actually can say I’ve met him and his family before. If you weren’t aware of what he’s done, including his affiliations, he comes off like an awkward dude bro who’s milking his success/authority as an adult, but he’s relatively inoffensive if you have little to no interaction with him. He’s “fine” with zero context, in the same way Elon was once “fine” when he kept his trap shut—where “fine” is relative to your tolerance level of their personality type. My dad said SB was an insufferable dork once, though, and I’ll never forget it (and this was even before the Taylor drama). 😂

At the same time, he’s effective at what he does when his ego doesn’t get in the way. There are a lot of people like him.

I dunno if I've talked about this before, but I like to look at identity labels as if they were shirts.

Most everyone at some point, wears a shirt.

Some stick with the same shirt they've always worn.

Some wear a new shirt every week to find one they like.

Some decide shirts aren't for them.

All are valid.

For those that wear shirts, we go to the same shirt shop to look for the shirts we like.

The shop is bigger than it looks.

And as you go deeper in, you realise there is more than just plain cotton shirts.

Because every identity is a different colour/fabric/texture/size and most times you won't find what fits comfortably right away.

It may take you years to find the one... Or find that you don't like shirts at all.

And that's okay.

And if you're worried about anyone judging your choice in shirt, just remember that people willingly wear the "I'm With Stupid" shirts.

The only opinion about your shirt you should care about, is your own.

Only you get to say whether or not the shirt is comfortable on you.

🌂 there's nothing wrong with it, I probably count as one, but it's tremendously vague. it doesn't actually communicate anything about what the non-spiritual part actually entails, besides one thing.

Well, that explains a lot actually.  I did mis-read that message. I’m sorry about that.

I had no intention of erasing struggles. I’m sorry that me using person first language is being problematic.  

But honestly, unless someone tells me exclusively what they prefer to be referred to as, I will usually be as general as possible.

the cisgenderism:  it’s a problem which I’m combating in my own way.  if a person doesn’t make it explicitly clear by telling me what they identify as, then I don’t make that decision for them?  I literally cannot change the entire system; I can only do what I can do.  So if someone that identified as a man comes up and says that they now identify as a woman, then I take it to be an immediate change and refer to them accordingly.  That’s what I can do to help combat this problem: not making assumptions and letting people dictate their of lives.  

If that’s erasing struggles and causing problems by not assuming that someone wants to be referred to as trans* or any other label, then I’ll try something else.
