In a hypothetical world where the tattoo does exist, of course keeping it covered indefinitely or when he decides it’s safe to go public with it is the real giveaway. But that’s not really practical to keep tabs on. The timeframe of the tour is a reasonable test because not only is it very public but, like you said, they have shows in the middle of Satan’s anus.

It would not make sense for him to forego any short-sleeve/sleeveless top—even if it’s for the length of a song or two—in the dead of summer nights without it looking odd. You can make the argument that, culturally, many East Asians like to stay covered up in the summer, but that argument falls apart when there’s precedence (i.e., he’s worn short sleeves/we’ve seen his arms in full glory) and the fact we can see that he does go uncovered when he’s offstage/away from prying eyes.

Another idea I’d posit is that he’ll wear some kind of t-shirt, but that area is bandaged up or covered by a bandana to look like an accessory.

You'd think after watching his hyung's (now plural I guess) relationship get splashed all over social media and then (quietly?) fizzle out, he'd heavily reconsider getting a matching tattoo.

Are you withholding judgment until after the tour? Or are you pretty solidly behind it not being much of a comical coincidence

It sounds dumb on the surface because of how obvious it is, but it really wouldn’t be surprising either.

Hard to make a judgment call without evidence, and what “evidence” is out there to the contrary are flimsy mockeries of proof that shippers and solos latch onto to quickly dispel narratives they don’t like.

But it could also end up being a fat load of nothing, after all. Maybe the shippers could be right in the end (I’m not ruling them out entirely—there’s a non-zero chance they’re onto something, but that’s by virtue of not knowing everything there is to know about JK personally).

It’s a rather comical coincidence that no one has yet seen a full view of that part of his arm—everything is angled or filmed for post-editing—especially this far into the tour where they’re not confined to specific costumes.

I’ve seen more of Yoongi and Jin’s arms than I have of Jungkook’s.

What’s funny to me is that I’m positive the tattoo rumor circulating is known to him. If there was no truth to it, it’d be so easy to squash it all by baring that arm to the world. Why prolong the elephant in the room?

BTS ships, including Jkk, are not real. It’s 2026, and everyone needs to yank their head out of their asses.

JK grimacing at fans’ mishearing TH should be telling and doesn’t excuse other ships from that reaction either were they to be brought up similarly in that context. (By the way, shame on Tkks for being weird on national television. Bring back shame because all of you need to suffocate on it.)

I don’t think any member of BTS would appreciate how many “fans” fantasize about them kissing or fucking each other, so cut it out.

I’ve not lost my interest in Jkk as individuals and friends, but I’ve certainly grown impatient with the fantasy that plagues sub-fandoms where delusional shipping is still fervently prevalent. That’s been obvious for a while now, but I’ve developed a particular vitriol towards the kind of shippers who really push those boundaries.

Jkks will deny it with their whole chest, but some of them are no more different than Tkks anymore.

It certainly makes a lot of them look goofy when they hinge their shipping narratives on what a member does for another specific member and not the others. Contrary to stupid belief, social media isn’t an indicator for anything substantial about a person.

Tkk aren’t as engaging to me when they’re alone together; I find their dynamic quite bland without a third party to throw in the mix, and I’ve thought this long before I knew people were shipping the members at all.

That said, this is entirely subjective. Just because I think their dynamic is bland doesn’t mean they actually/objectively are and is more of a reflection of what I like to see, and even what my own relationships with people are like.

I agree. I do think it’s difficult for shippers to parse out nuance in behaviors like that, though, but this is similar to his “I’ll keep holding on to Jimin” taunt.

That’s all it is—good-natured, goofy taunting. Reading too much into things like this is generally what I find problematic.

But if anyone else wants to interpret it differently, that’s their prerogative. Just don’t act surprised or try to spin fancy narratives later if things don’t end up the way you were expecting.

My take on this is that if anyone has to analyze JK’s (or anyone’s) words in excruciating detail and creating nuance where there is none, you’re already on the losing side.

He’s sharing something that happened to him, period. The immediate takeaways that don’t require needling over and beyond every detail is that he had a crush on a girl, and that if he had the opportunity and ability to do it again in the present, he’d just come out and tell her he liked her. That last bit was clearly said playfully, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was truth to it. JK is, after all, a more confident adult than his younger self.

And really, my opinion goes for any overly analytical takes, which is mostly all of them. If you have to reach beyond what’s given to you on the surface just to make a point related to your agenda, you no longer care about them as individual human beings; what matters to you is what you’re able to thread together to prove you’re right about what you think of them.

It’s cute that you think Jungkook and Jimin dating or being interested in other people (or, god forbid, women) would ever deter unhinged shippers from continuing their own narrative in spite of what reality might be.

Already I’ve seen shippers say JM wasn’t actually happy with JK’s story, or it’s something that happened in the past and JK’s present is JM—and, in theory, these are valid but they refuse to also acknowledge that JM could legitimately be entertained by said story because it’s a universal phenomenon when people have crushes they can’t approach, or that JK and JM might actually be into other people rather than each other. Or they might not be into anyone at all.

They’re people first, not your dolls to play house with and assume things because you’re too busy projecting your own experiences onto them.

It should come as no surprise that I’m over Jkks (and all shippers who are pushing past their boundaries as a fan). No one can convince me that they’re not morphing into their worst enemies and exhibiting similar delusional behavior.

I’m going to lean towards it being genuine when he said that he hasn’t. I believe him anyway.

I think they’re at the cusp of a turning point in their careers, one where they can easily choose to walk away and create a new path with new agencies if they wanted to.

Personally, I think it would be wise to do what some idols eventually end up doing, which is to stay with HYBE for group activities, and for solo activities they should find another agency if they don’t all choose to stick with HYBE altogether.

In spite of all the criticism that company gets, especially with solos who demand/expect more for their worshipped idol, BTS does have more say in what they want to do and achieve with them. I also think they could build more business acumen with them for a little while longer, especially if they want to mull over the possibility of starting their own production company (which they very well could do). I think short-term contract renewals with HYBE would be the optimal situation for them as they continue to branch out.

That said, I saw a post recently on Twitter/X that showed the brand of said bracelet (I’m assuming it’s the braided one?), and while I didn’t look at it too closely, it seemed like one of those independent/obscure brands that SK is pretty notorious for (as in having a lot of obscure brands—it’s personally why I think their clothing/jewelry brands are elite). Someone can correct me if I’m mistaken.

For clarity, I never concretely said any of these things. I hate armchair psychology, especially when people on the Internet conflate their personal experiences as facts for someone else.

I only “suspected” as much after working as a licensed therapist for a few years. I was/am on the younger side for those in the occupation, which led to some understandable biases from patients and colleagues, and coupled with that I discovered my heart wasn’t really in it. I’ve jumped a couple of industries since then. And to be fair, I would argue it wasn’t too far a leap to think OT7 were experiencing depression prior to their MS announcement, but signs of it seemed more pronounced initially with NJ and JM.
