labanotation
Research/Potential: This is Laban notation, a form of recording movement using symbols on staffs. Created by Rudolf Laban, a celebrated Hungarian dancer and dance theorist in 1928 and published in his book 'Shrifttanz'. I had to learn Laban notation whilst doing my A Levels; sight read and perform an unseen piece during the exams....
With the brief 'movement', I would like to explore using this way of recording actions and gesture in a piece, perhaps in sculptural form or a 2D translational work.
