The ubiquity of consumer-oriented digital modeling tools and comprehensive 3D environments points to a world in which the simple relationship between maker and model is complicated, in which our idea of desirable habitats and our preference for "tasteful" structures will become linked more to perceived notoriety than to an existing urban context. Compound Stack Model proposes a living space preoccupied with the "Internet famous" building, in which material resolution, rather than an inevitability, is an option, arranged according to elevation — to ascend and descend between floors is to pass from one model to another, from one version of a single place in time to another version, and to repeatedly cross the threshold between lesser and greater resolutions the higher one climbs.
