My chest physically hurts. I always knew heartbreak hurt. But no one told me it hurt like this.
No one said the pain would reside deep with the cages of my lungs, trapping the pain within with no room for escape or release.
That the pain would spread from my heart, to burn in my chest and seep deep within my bones.

Ya’ll have no idea how much struggle and drama was involved in getting here.
From having no contract (and a salary freeze) for 62 days.
To being collateral damage in a firm split.
To waiting 7 days to speak to the managing partner about my contract.
To hearing that this was the easiest promotion but hardest to make official because of the split.
It took literal tears (no fr I cried in the managing partner’s room when I was telling him about how unfair some things were) but this is a reminder to future me that good things happen to those who wait I guess??
My contract expired on the 8th of Dec. It’s the 16th and I STILL don’t have a new one. Just toxic law firm things
