Combining Pellaeon/Thrawn and Kylo Ren/Hux into one monster rhombus thrown in someone else’s political setting might not be the weirdest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s certainly one of the weirdest short-notice things I’ve done for a while.

That said…Being the repulsed!ace I am, it’s a bit difficult for me to write porn.

I’ve done it before, and I’m working my tolerance up for it, but it’s actually agonizingly tricky for me.

Usually the porn I write involves a lot of dialogue, and has absolutely no guarantee of actually being hot.

There’s probably a one-in-three rate on it actually being kind of squicky, even or having strange kinks because I’m either actively repulsed by or completely ambivalent to anything sexy in about equal measures.

The best way to explain it is, some days I’m set off by the mention of someone touching another person’s arm and have to put down my phone and breathe, and other days I can read something completely hardcore without batting an eye but also without feeling anything particularly sexual. I’ve made friends with some very nice kinksters thanks to the unique assistance of the latter, but it means I really have the same level of ambivalence/revulsion oscillation to something vanilla that I do to someone getting off on vivisection, and consequently sometimes I write something extraordinarily weird without realizing it’s fetishistic.

Lack of depth perception, if you will.(Although that sounds like a joke in a porn discussion.)

Essentially, anything with porn is Russian Roulette for me. That goes for reading OR writing.

So. That disclaimer out of the way:

While the style and setting of the AU mean my porn style would probably work quite well in this particular dynamic (i.e.: politics, snark, innuendo, all that good stuff) it’s not exactly something I can churn out off the cuff unless I get extremely lucky and my mental disgust system is working on a low trigger that day.

I am not ADVERSE to it.It just might not turn out conventionally, if it turns out at all, and it might take quite a while.

As for art, while I can technically draw, that also tends to take a ridiculous amount of time for me.Plus I’d frankly rather illustrate someone else’s work than my own much of the time. An illustration for someone else is a gift. Drawing your own work just points back to you. (I may be misunderstanding if this is directed at me or not.)

However, if other people would like to pick up on Pellaekythrux or Kythrux and offer their talents up to the end of Porn, or Art, respectively (or even both) I’d be delighted.

Now, let me plug the setting on the off chance it hasn’t been clear:

The Senator AU is technically the property of @sathinfection (who has been lovely and supportive) and Valinwhore (who I don’t know at all and therefore am a bit shy about AT-ing, but whose art for the AU is wonderful and hysterically funny to boot.)

Lack of Thrawn notwithstanding, I heartily recommend it if you haven’t investigated it yet, because the humor in that too is something lovely. (Look up “Intwig sluice” if you don’t believe me, or just follow my GODSPEED COMRADE tag here until you find the link to the master post.)

That has both guaranteed art (a la Valinwhore) and also guaranteed Kylux porn (a la Sathinfection.)

Your predjudiced First Order reasoning was one of my favorite things about your Senator Ren AU for the record~ :>

Additionally, it seems to be canon so far based on the fact that the First a Order uses non-humans in their mining and farming and that the only folks we see on their side are humans (humans of diverse gender and race, but still ALL HUMANS) that the First Order is just as speciesist as the Empire.

Even Finn is subtly handled in the novelization in such a way that HE assumes anything humanoid-shaped is in charge over anything less humanoid shape. (The interaction between him and the two smugglers heading to the outer rim is GREAT. He keeps assuming the humanoid must be the captain and the alien keeps trying to talk to him.)

So, while you have a gay Hux in your AU, he’s still perfectly primed to be just as predjudiced as his Order.

Thrawn would still be thoroughly problematic to him, I mean. Doubly so if he’s left the Empire. (Presumably post-assassination attempt and probably at the behest of Pellaeon, I’d assume.)

Since the First Order has a propaganda department, I’m sure they gloss over that colorful bit of history when it comes to the military might of the Empire even in a universe with Thrawn.

The cool thing about Thrawn is he’s basically designed as a character who’s good at anything he touches. He could probably pick up politics just as easily as he picked up war. And he has reason to, since his homeworld is situated right on the border of the Unknown Regions where the First Order is.

So…subtly, assuming the First Order works as a threat from the Unknown, Thrawn is kind of on the anti-Order side because his people would be in the line of fire, and the Chiss don’t DO preemptive strikes.

With a weapon like Starkiller, the stakes on being a people who don’t hit first rise drastically.

Cue the grandson of Vader showing up.

Thrawn being Thrawn he’s probably quite aware of the strategy in mentoring someone like Ren. And when Ren brings Hux: this First Order brat who’s the FACE behind the firing of the great weapon, but also has the potential to be an ally because he too is an outsider because of his sexuality…

Well.He probably intrigues Thrawn.

And Thrawn with his connections in the outer rim (his “brotherhood”) probably has the resources to hit what Hux really cares about, which is the idea that the First Order doesn’t have the resources to spread to its people, and that their conquest is partially based on hunger.Which Ren knows.

While Ren has to be coy and play for his constituents, Thrawn is the Godfather.He has much more freedom.

So.

You really DO have a perfect political setup. Just based on how your universe is set up and the personalities involved.(I mean. I didn’t have to do much… •/////• )

PLUS Thrawn is probably savvy enough to look up Hux and note the black mark on his record and what it’s for.He knows a perfect weapon designed to destroy his pet senator friend when he sees one. And Ren doesn’t exactly bring all his boyfriends around to meet his alien godfather.

So Hux complains he isn’t sent to make sex tapes and Thrawn kind of arches an eyebrow like, do you believe that, or are you lying? Are you really completely unaware the First Order has pimped you out?

He’s married.He knows things can work out unexpectedly, and humans can be paradoxically loyal even while craving the utmost freedom from an oppressive system. But it would be very foolish not to prepare for a perfect way to strike before there’s an actual problem.

So.
