What kind of task/event/challenge would make your character to pour every ounce of their being (their beliefs, their reputation, their heart, their soul) into? What’s one thing they would put everything on the line for and have to rely on blind hope to accomplish? (Sindrell!)
For Sindrell really the only thing that could do that is if her sister's life was on the line and she had to do something to save her. Past that, even if she is a highly motivated worker when it comes to her job and rarely does a job unless she does it as perfectly as she can, she doesn't really actually put a lot of personal emotion into it. You'd have to mess with her only remaining family to get that side of her to come out.

Deception is a vital part of his job as an agent, and he has zero moral conflict over being good at it. I imagine that's one case where growing up in such a rigid societal structure where appearances are everything actually helps - he's had a lifetime of practice. 9.5 times out of ten it is for his own gain (for intel, access to some place he needs to be, etc...).
In his personal life, he's more liable to be evasive or if that doesn't work, to deceive by omission, i.e. telling the truth but leaving out this or that detail if he feels it isn't useful or beneficial, or if it is likely to cause complications in his life. >.>
He feels like his biggest lie has been to his family, because he never told them about the fight he and his brother had before his brother packed up and left to join the Exiles. Sometimes in rare moments, he feels bad about it. He rationalizes it away by telling himself he will at least tell his sister one day, but that day hasn't come yet.

LIES this is all a ploy to get me to install skype. XD Oh, you. I'm d'awwing all over the place. I really can't imagine this fandom without you, Kyrize. People like you make me want to roll my Exile toons out of cryo (shh don't tell Marqos). Thanks for all the smiles and omg HARD but satisfying Munday questions!
Deceived! Name one way your character has been deceived, either self-deception or tricked into doing/giving something they wouldn’t have. Did they learn anything by it? What were the repercussions?
Okay, all my Tumblr/In-Game RP has actually been free of any sort of blatant deception towards Sly. The only deception in her life is one that's yet to be revealed.Wow, this was a boring answer. I could ramble about the deception that occurred in her retconned stuff pre-launch, but it's all pointless because RETCONNED.

Honestly, this truly really only happened to Harry. And this one ran and bit him really deeply.
Harry wasn't always single. In fact, he wasn't the only pupil underneath the PI that trained him. Enter Amelia Lamora, a woman Harry's age. Fiery red hair, pale green eyes, slim, and a personality to match her hair. Honestly, she was better at the work than Harry ever was. Sometimes he got an edge on reading people, but, she was always the one who truly brought out the breakthroughs that solved the cases they were on. He was a bit slower at learning as well, even if he was a sharp kid, she was just sharper.
Though of course, this didn't breed envy in Harry, it bred a crush.
This crush blossomed into what he thought was a loving relationship. His first one. She was his first in many many ways (Yes, including that one). Now, this lasted a few years, right into the beginnings of adulthood for the both of them. Madly in love, they seemed poised to take on the world.
Now, they were Exiles, born and raised. But at the same time, one day, Amelia was contacted by an outsider, looking for some information about the Fleet and the Ruin. It started off innocent enough, and the pay was good. She saw it as a continuing opportunity to get herself and Harry a better life. She kept it quiet from Harry, which would lead to her downfall.
Of course, this unknown client was slowly upping the ante when it came to the information they desired. Engineer shifts turned into FCON patrols, ship counts, weapon counts. But the pay got better. It would be all worth it. If she were caught, she could just flee, with Harry behind her, right?
The last one offered her what amounted to 2 passes to defect to the Dominion. Something unheard of, but it would give her and Harry the comfort she thought they deserved. What she didn't know, was that an FCON soldier had hired Harry to track down some leak in their system. So they were unknowingly working against each other. Until he found her, transferring that last file.
Words were exchanged, and when it was clear that Harry was not on board with this plan, Amelia opted to save her own skin, rather than risk her life. She shot him. Whether or not it was meant to be lethal is only known to her, but either way, with Harry losing consciousness due to blood loss, all he could think about was the fact that the woman he loved, that he trusted more than anyone, killed him.
Of course we know that he didn't die. He was found and treated quite quickly. Mostly. Since then, he has always shied away from anything relating to actual love. It is a demon he even fights with now when he's alone with Sly. His mind refuses to believe in it, no matter how much he tries to fight it with the fact that others are not Amelia. Alongside this, it is... Compounded by red hair, especially on women. It can make him even cringe if their look touches upon bad memories. He even still has the scars from the bullet wound.
Amelia has never been found. The official report provided by Harry said that she was kidnapped. Honestly, he never wants to see her again. He knows it will only end in one way, truly. And he doesn't want to confront it.
While much of him hates her, a part of him still loves her, after all.
18, 31, 33
((I said Designate, but ah well))
18 - Harry: "Green." Vlad: "Blue." Me: Navy.
31 - Cold Days, a book of the Dresden Files series written by Jim Butcher.
33 - Hannibal, basically marathoned season 2. I hit the last episode and promptly celebrated and regretted every decision that led me to Mizumono.
Everybody has a history of sacrifices, whether large or small. What’s one of the most painful sacrifices your character has made and how does it affect them today? How has their sacrifice influenced them?
I've puzzled over this all day, and to be perfectly honest, Marqos has not had to sacrifice much at all in his life. Being highborn and wealthy has its charms. In a way joining the military was a small sacrifice of ego and personal freedom. Though it hasn't come to it yet (he has been close but always manages to find a way out), he absolutely carries the willingness in him to sacrifice all in the name of the Dominion if needs be.
I suspect the future will hold some more weighty choices for him though, so stay tuned? :P
