#3. Alex and Kyle

alex isn't looking forward to a two-day drive to hunt down missing alien information, so when kyle volunteers to keep him company on the trip, he gets repaid with control of the aux cord and choice of gas station snacks. two hours after they leave roswell (and not even halfway through a playlist comprised exclusively of pop and punk covers of top 40 hits through the ages), alex starts to suspect that they aren't actually listening to "gym vibes." he would ask, but kyle keeps glancing over so earnestly that alex doesn't have the heart to question it. he lets the music play, smothering his smile in the back of his hand whenever a particular version startles a laugh out of him, and by the time they get to their motel, alex ends up using the terrible wifi connection to download a bunch of the tracks to his phone.

You can’t just pop a replacement heart in a guy and bring him back to life!
