i will always adore the clexa bol kiss, beautiful and life-changing as it is, but the drastic difference in tone between these two scenes -- which happen one right after the other -- has always bugged me. 

though raven and wick are introduced as a significant pairing earlier in the season (2.04 to clexa’s 2.07), clarke and lexa get almost double the attention in terms of scenes. the couples get a similar lead in to their romance, but you could even argue that clexa gets more of a ramp up to their first kiss than raven and wick.

and yet they share the chaste, soft kiss while raven and wick get a passionate, explosive moment. again, i love the clexa kiss so hard, but it’s so difficult to ignore the fact that nearly all the het couples on this show get steamy makeouts that clearly and pointedly delve into sex, and they get them right away. there’s no waiting -- which makes sense when you live in a world where one of you could drop dead at any instant. 

when clexa finally does get their steamy makeout, it was a) bittersweet and b) hard to count as anything because it almost directly resulted in lexa’s fridging.

It was a broken down car and an off the map town that brought them together. He was a journalist who wandered into the first mechanic he saw. She was the one that owned the store he stepped into...
