Getting Together:

So going off Canon initially, Wyatt is obsessed with Kai, but it’s more he loves the idea of who Kai is. The version of Kai he’s created in his head, and read about in Beyblading magazines. 

Wyatt is persistent, even when Kai wants nothing to do with him.

EVERYONE IN THE CLASS CAN SEE THAT WYATT IS IN LOVE OBSESSED WITH KAI.

Wyatt wears Kai down and slowly he finds it endearing how… persistent Wyatt is. 

Kai would never admit that he felt lonely before Wyatt forced himself into Kai’s life, even though a lot of the loneliness was self inflicted

Having their seats changed so they sit next to each other (Wyatt asked, and the teacher was happy to oblige since Kai never talks and keeps to himself)

Wyatt excitedly grabbing Kai’s hand and dragging a begrudged Kai along all around campus, to his dorm room, club activities, etc.

To me, it’s a slow process. Wyatt is still in love with Kai, but it transitions from this love of the Kai he’s built up, to the Kai that actually breathes. 

Kai won't admit it, but Wyatt is growing on him, and he starts enjoying the brunette’s company. And it’s a weird funny feeling that starts to bloom in his chest when the brunette is around. 

The two of them chilling on the rooftop, Kai smoking a contraband cigarette that he snuck in, and Wyatt’s just thrilled to be there sat next to him, his thigh pressed against Kai’s. 

Kai always offer’s his cigarette to wyatt who declines. He snuffs out the cigarette, scooches away from Wyatt, just enough that he can put his arms behind his own head, without elbowing Wyatt and shuts his eyes.

Wyatt smiles over at Kai, who looks so content and at peace. And decides, fuck it. He leans in and kisses Kai… on the cheek.

And Kai is so red and blushy afterwards, hiding his face. He is so overwhelmed with words and feelings, and it's so much for him.

Wyatt apologizes, but Kai reluctantly admits he didn't hate it.

And i know i always say this but, this is slow. Them getting together is awkward in the way that 15-16 year old relationships are. BUT IS IT SOFT AND SWEET.

Wyatt is so patient with Kai opening up and doing things. Wyatt loves how red Kai gets everytime he places a surprise kiss on a pale cheek. And Kai is so determined to get more comfortable and do things with Wyatt that he thinks about. (Initiating hugs, kissing Wyatt;s cheek. Holding hands. Just touching Wyatt in general)

Their first kiss on the lips, also takes place with them on the roof, very similar to the kiss on the cheek, but this time, Kai has his eyes opened and can see Wyatt leaning in in slow motion, but doesnt move. Wyatt kisses him and it’s so soft and slow and sweet. Very chaste. Kai freezes and ends up hiding his blushing face.

Headcanons:

Obviously them getting together is canon divergence, but there’s no Saint Shields, or Team Psykick. They get to enjoy their school year with each other sneaking around the campus, in each other’s dorm rooms and when they leave campus to enjoy the city.

In this ship, Kai is so blushy and unsure. And Nervous. Wyatt is so confident and assured, which makes sense after he chases after Kai with no embarrassment or remorse.

Wyatt always kisses first and Kai is always flustered by it. Bright red and blushing to the tips of his ears.

Wyatt coming to the realization that Kai wears colored contacts, and wont let him live it down. (Also thinking he looks so cute when Kai is too tired to bother with his contacts and wears his glasses.)

Kai tries so hard for Wyatt. This is all super new and not something he really ever expected to do. (Maybe in the distant future, when he retired from beyblading and after he takes over Hiwatari enterprises but not now.)

Also they are huge dorks for each other.

Others:

It’s not common knowledge at school that they’re dating, just that somehow, someway, Wyatt was able to win over Kai with his perseverance (Other’s might say that’s the wrong word, and that Wyatt was just so annoying that Kai gave up, but that’s all gossip)

But it does come out that they're dating, someone forgot to lock the door, they weren’t careful, doesn't really matter. And all of Wyatt’s friends are like dude how the fuck did you manage to pull Hiwatari of ALL people?

And then its teenage boy banter back and forth. (“Wyatt’s dick must be huge, if he managed to convince Hiwatari to date him.” “Dude there’s no way Wyatt’s the top.”) shit like that.

But also the surprise on all the Bladebreakers faces when it’s summer and they all travel from wherever they are back to Takao’s. BECAUSE WHO IS THIS. Kai doesn't introduce them to Wyatt, just shows up with the brunet attached to his hip, doesn’t offer up any information in typical Kai fashion, and lets Wyatt introduce himself, as a schoolmate. and Honestly another ray of sunshine and gloomy grouchy couple.

Kai’s mellowed out a bit since getting with Wyatt which everyone picks up on. He’s calmer and patient and less quick to a fiery temper. 

They don’t tell the guys they are together (because Kai/Privacy), but when it comes up everyone is initially so surprised, but it does make sense with how Kai has changed. 

Takao, not sure if this is the correct word, but i'm sure yall will get what i mean by it, picks? On Kai? Jokes around about it? He has no malice behind it other than just annoying the crap out of Kai. Wyatt is not a fan of this behavior and finds himself sticking up for Kai (which kai finds unnecessary, but endearing nonetheless)

Wyatt fits in with their group well and completes their already completed dynamic.
