→ it’s no secret that tetora is head-over-heels in love with kuro - why wouldn’t he be? kuro is the human definition of manliness, and he would cross rivers and climb mountains to stand as kuro’s equal. for some reason, it irks him when kuro refers to him as if he were his son; it should make him, proud yet he feels a pinch in his heart each time.

→ as for kuro, it’s the first time he has someone looking up to him with puppy-eyed adoration, and it’s the first time he feels the pressing need to protect someone who wasn’t his immediate family. having tetora next to him, burning with pleasure with just a compliment on his karatae technique, is a blessing, yet kuro fears he could burden tetora as well.

→ feelings of admiration, or feelings of love? the line between them is blur, and tetora never felt the need to distinct them, for he always thought that feelings were ‘not manly’. so he never acts on them, and basks in his love for kuro until the tables turn and kuro is wondering out loud if... they could go on a date together. tetora’s eyes are wide and shiny, and he accepts in a heartbeat.

→ one would expect tetora to be the clingier one in the relationship, but this is not so at first; in fact, he is so overwhelmed by having the object of his affections close to him, and offering him the kindness and warmth of a lover that he is too embarrassed to function. then again, kuro isn’t exactly the best at clinging to the boy he likes, and he yearns for tetora to offer him the affection he’s dreamed for.

→ tetora tries to learn to sew to spend more time with his boyfriend, but that doesn’t work out really well, his thumbs are too clumsy and fat. at first, he’d just sit back and watch kuro, but now kuro asks him to model his outfits, and even gifts them to him. majority of the outfits are of traditional themes, and kuro has to look away so that his heart will stop beating when looks at tetora with silk kimono draped over his slender frame.

→ kuro never goes easy on tetora, even when they’re dating and he can feel tetora’s desire to defeat kuro once and for all, fair and square, in karatae match ooze off him. there was once, however, when tetora knocked down kuro, and cried out triumphantly; proudly, kuro leans up to kiss him. it’s only when tetora melts in the kiss that his grip loosens, and kuro takes the match.
