I really felt that the song’s message about seeking love resonated with your creations, the Kurlitads, but in my story accompanying the picture, I frame the song to refer to the difficulty of holding on to the memories of love as time continues to march forward. One detail, unless it was on purpose: It should be Rosa's singing that entrances Sulfur. The females used to sing and the males danced. The kurls only started doing both after they thought all men had died, as to honour them. And kurlitads are always completely white-feathered, but well, I'm willing to entertain a couple of mutants. I like that poofy pink head.

Concerning their design in general, I wanted creatures that looked like pixies. Their pointy noses are what they are so they can simulate beaks when they transform themselves into birds.Kurlitads cannot die of old age and this poi originates from a time they were still perceived to exist. He isn’t a newborn or anything of the sort. He just found himself alone one day and travelled around the world until he came across a group of sleeping kurlitads. He inserted himself into the group without warning and the next morning these ladies woke up a gentleman richer. The end.
