As Philipp had to go back to the real life and work, Hendrik and I got to sleep in, and now that I finally had some quality interwebz, the ability to get a little work done online in what must be the coolest attic apartment in Germany:

We chilled until a little afternoon, and then we made tracks to Schwaebisch Hall, an adorable little town Philipp had suggested. And f**k it if it wasn't like something out of a fairytale. Check it:

Like seriously, right?

Because it was midday there were almost zero food options, but we managed to find a kiosk serving local meats. I have the schnitzel and German potato salad, and DAMN, it hit the spot. We went to the train station, where I was scheduled to ride to Stuttgart.

I got to my hostel - just a one-night affair to be ready for my next-day flight to Chișinău, Moldova. I took the €1 first beer offer from the hostel, and sat as some guy talking loudly on his phone exclaimed that Americans had no culture, the Chinese were the same, blah blah blah. After finishing my beer (and having quite enough of the nonsense), I loudly claimed to the bartender/hostelkeeper that while I had zero culture, could I possibly have another beer? Another patron who looked equally annoyed also asked for another, and I heard him speak English with an Irish lilt.

And that's how I met Dean! We both chatted at what an asshole the guy was, and after his multiple phone calls he finally left, where we then simply openly mocked him.

I never said I was the perfect traveler or guest.

I hopped onto the Couchsurfing app to see if there was anything going on, and found a pub quiz at an Irish pub known as Biddy Earlys, which just so happened to be where Dean was looking to go since he needed a good pint of Guinness. So off we went, where we met up with Julian and Max, some Couchsurfers who had sent up the flag for teammates.

We arrived a few rounds late, but once there, proceeded to CRUSH IT. We think the Quizmaster may have been favorites, but either way we had fun.
