I’ve been in a really low place emotionally and spiritually for years and i finally opened up to my entire grad class at a retreat about what I’ve been going through on Friday night during an open time during campfire and, although it took an enormous weight off my shoulders, I remember looking over at my best friend afterwards and seeing the sadness in her eyes and feeling so guilty because my best friend of 11 years was finding out this critical information about me at the same time that people I never talk to were hearing it. I need to remember that keeping things to myself not only hurts me, but can also hurt the people around me.
