Hawaiian Roller Coast Ride (A Spring Break 2012 Thread)
The Pacific Ocean was so much clearer than the coastal shores of the Atlantic and the Boston Harbor back home. Sunlight reflected off the peaks and valleys created by the cresting waves, making the water shine like a bowlful of diamonds. Taking in a deep breath of salted air, Sochi exhaled softly and slowly, lips forming into a contented smile.
Life had been going smoothly towards the end of his Sophomore year. He’d just started dating a very attractive and talented fellow dancer who was interning at the studio back home, the rehearsals for the upcoming production of Mamma Mia! at the BIT had them ahead of schedule, and this week he was making a killing as a last-minute addition swimsuit model for a Tommy Bahama on location shoot. It didn’t hurt that him being a resent addition sent him to the sandy beaches of Hawaii.
That fact alone made him even more excited to get two days for himself in between the shoot. He’d never been too fond of being alone, but sampling the local cuisine and walking through shops had given him a beautiful morning of conversation. Now, Sochi was looking to relax and do something new and adventurous--something he’d never do with anyone back home.
As he looked up the beach, he noticed a small makeshift building, almost a shack, advertising surfing lessons. Sochi’s grin grew wider as he thought about it. He was a dancer, and his legs were steady and sturdy, so how hard could it be?
Walking up to the little hut, he peered into the shaded area until he could see a face, speaking to introduce himself, “Aloha! I was wondering about surfing lessons? I’m very interested! Buuuut I’m just wondering about prices and hours, availability and stuff.”
